My Time Management SUCKS!

Yup. SUCKS!

I have slacked off SO MUCH in the past couple of months. I’d like to say it’s because I’ve been so busy. I mean, seriously, how does one come back to a balls to the wall busy season? It can be done. It has been done by me…just a little sloppy.

Now, mind you, what I do is VERY active and therefore VERY exhausting. I love EVERY MINUTE OF IT! A typical day on the job is me waking up before the butt crack of dawn which is usually around 4am. I have some time to myself, usually spent in the kitchen, making my lunch for the day and eating breakfast. I start getting ready about an hour later. I’m on the road an hour after that.

From then on it’s full swing. My end time for each day varies. Early days are nice. These are when I’m done between 10am and 1pm. End times between 1pm and 3pm are typical. Anytime after that is considered a late day. These days are when I feel as though I get absolutely nothing done. These days are also the most exhausting. I’m in bed between 7pm and 9pm on any of these nights.

My early days I have been taking advantage of but mostly in the wrong way. I’ve been either wasting time online or just sitting around relaxing. True, relaxing is a good thing but not for the rest of the day. There are plenty of things that can fill those time slots. On some of my early days and a few of my regular days, I’ve been doing a little too much to the point where nothing got done. Frustrating.

Which brings me to another situation where I’ve been slacking. I have the bomb phone. It’s an Android. I am SO Team Android right now. I am not sure how I have lived without my Sprint Epic 4G Galaxy S for so long. It’s just…wonderful. It does everything.

I digress.

I have this saying in regards to plans, events and the like. I say “If it’s not in the phone, it doesn’t exist to me.” That is a very true statement. I have been pretty good at keeping my calendar updated…until a few months ago. No wonder it seems like I’m going in too many directions at once. I’m trying to fit everything in when I suddenly have the time and the energy to do it.

Well guess what I did today? I updated my calendar! Whoo-hoo!
I also downloaded a few android apps to help me keep track and view ALL of my calendars. I have several and I update from multiple places such as my phone, Outlook, Google, etc. I love technology!

I went ahead and placed all of my photo jobs for the week on there. This includes my commute time. My end times I’m playing by ear. There are things that can be placed into my late afternoon slots. They are all tentative at this point. My late afternoon slots are the best times for me to take care of my personal business. This means plenty of computer time. My evening slots are best used clearing my head and taking care of me. I dance two nights a week which is my cardio. Gotta keep the sexy. I would like to add in a few more nights of activity. That’s something I’m researching now. In the meantime, there is good old fashioned running/walking. Oh joy.

I also uploaded a ton of images that I’ve taken over the past month. One gallery went to my imagery site as well as my Meetup group site since it involved a social. I let the organizer know that I’d be processing the images today. I like to do as I say. Good times as always mingling with fellow dancers.

I am hoping that my time management improves with me getting back to keeping everything on my schedule. I know that my diet will play a huge roll as well. If I’m not getting the nutrients that I need then I’m going to be wiped more times than not. I prefer not to be. My health needs to be optimal for me to keep with my schedule.

We shall see how things roll. My mid month checkup is almost here. I should be smooth sailing by then.
