A Great Snack…Healthy Too

What’s in my pantry?

Almonds.  A wonderful snack food to have around.  These babies are packed with all types of good stuff including anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, proteins and unsaturated fats.  When eaten in moderation almonds can promote lower cholesterol levels, prevents heart disease and can help with weight loss.

That’s the key…in moderation.  You see I love these little suckers.  I have the capability to eat this ENTIRE tub of almonds if I so choose.  How lucky I am to have the resolve that I do.  Having too many of these may do me more harm then good.

It’s always a good idea to have something like this around the house.  Other quick snacks like carrots and celery can be available as well.  This will reduce the need for needless snacking on the bad stuff like processed sweets and the like.  Oh yes how I like those as well.  Lol.

I’m actually trying to make an effort to eat cleaner.  This stems from a health issue that I’ve been battling for many, many, many years.  I’ll ellaborate further in a future blog post if I choose to share.  Besides eating cleaner will put me on a path to a healthier style of living.  That’s the goal isn’t it?  You damn right it is!

So go and enjoy some nuts today…pun intended!
