Where Indeed

I‘m thinking back to a blog a friend of mine wrote a while back about where they were from.  It got me to thinking of my roots.

I hail from the 315.  That’s Syracuse, NY for those who are not familiar with the area code.  The only things I really remember about this city are vague images of people and places.  I cannot really give any specifics.  I was only a very young child when I lived there.

Eventually we moved to the 518.  That’s in Albany which is the capital of the wonderful state of New York.  Most of my memories are here.  There was a lot of back and forth between here, The Cuse, and every place in between.  My family is everywhere in this state.

Later we moved to a place that I have despised since the beginning but am grateful that I experienced it.  Cherish this moment people because you will NEVER hear or see me say this again.  Lol.  We moved to Kansas City.

In my attempts to get out of this gawd awful place, I started doing a lot of traveling when I was able to.  I took long road trips, mostly to Chicago, over my weekends.  I even lived in a few other places, South Carolina and Georgia being the few.  I always ended up right back in Kansas City.  Eewww!

I still catch myself saying that I’m from upstate NY.  I’m not sure why.  The majority of my time was spent in Kansas City.  I also have remnants of all of the other places I have lived during my life on this world.  Basically I am a product of multiple places.  Aren’t we all?

The world is my playground.  I’ve been saying that a lot lately.  I believe that it is true.  I am currently gracing our nations capital with my presence.  Lol.  Yes, I am in Washington, DC making it happen.  A few years from now who knows where I will be.  Miami?  New York?  Italy?

My point?

It’s not about where you’re from and what you’ve done.

It’s about where you’re at and what you’re doing.
