This may come to a surprise to many of you. I can tell you it shocked the crap out of me. It has been over a month since I’ve had any coffee! Not since the end of my busy season. Interesting.
I love coffee. The smell. The taste. Even the look is quite soothing to me. So why have I been denying myself for over a month? Beats me! Maybe I haven’t felt as though I’ve needed it. Starbucks has been getting no love from me. My very own coffee maker hasn’t been feeling the love either. I’ve been heating up water with it to use for my lemon tea.
Yes, I’m still drinking lemon tea. It is quite good and works wonders for detoxification purposes. It is also a bit more healthier than coffee. Lemon tea doesn’t have the same feel good effect on my senses but my body is agreeing with it.
I put a stop to my coffee hiatus a few nights ago. I went to my local watering hole and sipped on a few cups of coffee and Baileys. A bit of Jameson was added in a cup. It was SO good. I got a lot of journal writing done that night. It also reminded me of how much I missed my signature hot drink.
Will I go back to drinking coffee like it was water like before? Probably not. I’m noticing that I’m having a small reaction to the caffeine from a few nights ago. Don’t want to make a habit of that. However, the fall season at my company will be getting started soon. We soon shall see.
