It’s been a non stop run for me for the past few weeks. The work has been coming. The days have been wonderful. I am grateful for it ALL. I will admit that it is taking a toll on me though. I hardly have any energy. The need for sleep wins over the need for everything else.
There are things that I can change to make it all better. For one, my diet is completely shot to crap.
My breakfasts consists of a protein shake with either juice or milk. The shakes are good and quite filling…at least for a few hours. Then it feels as though I am STARVING. Small snacks help but don’t really cut it.
So what do I do?
I go to the nearest fast food joint. NOT COOL! I cannot stand fast food ESPECIALLY McyDs. I find myself heading to their drive thru at least twice a week. It’s about twice a week that I have my longest days. Still an Epic Fail in my book.
What can I do to combat this situation?
Well I can continue to do my protein shakes in the morning. I need to be sure that I actually drink it. Sometimes the day can get started very quickly and the shake is forgotten. I like to drink it when I get to the site. Drinking it while I’m driving is a hazard. The shake also works as a before workout boost. Since I’m hauling all of that equipment in and out of the site, the protein shake gives me much needed energy as well as the nutrients my muscles need to function. Score!
I need to get back on my supplements. I kind of slacked off of them. I need my Omega-3s, EPAs and DHAs. I get that from a Cod Liver Oil pill. I’m also taking a supplement derived from bees. It’s all good stuff.
I need to pack a sufficient lunch daily. I normally do not bother with this at all. In my line of work for this company I don’t have time for a lunch. I hardly have time for a nature break if you know what I mean. So when am I going to eat? The way it’s looking, I can eat when I’m done with my day. That way I do not have to scurry on over to the fast food drive thru. DUH! It’s hilarious how simple things are once I get them into words.
My plan of action?
> Head to the grocery to pick up veggies, soups, juice, milk, and other needed food items.
> Head to Dick’s Sporting Goods and get a decent lunch box with thermos.
> Head to Vitamin Shoppe or GNC to re-up on supplements.
With this plan I hope to gain back a ton of energy. This way I can add a few more activities to my plate once my business is done for the day. Activities such as taking images at my leisure, hanging out with cool people, and doing additional exercise. All of these are great things to add to my happiness.
