…another year begins.
Today at 155pm EST concluded my 33rd year of life. It was a great ride. Wonderful…and bittersweet.
I accomplished so much within this year.
* I landed my dream job as a photographer.
* I was granted the opportunity to work with children…and I LOVE it!
* I revamped my blog…many, many, many times. 🙂
* I revamped my image gallery.
* I got started with my first business model for my personalized gifts business.
* I’ve been doing extensive research concerning my second business model for my personalized gift business.
* I have made great business contacts.
* I have grown lasting relationships (this is a huge one for me).
* I have opened up (another huge one).
* I have evolved.
This is an impressive list of accomplishments if I do say so myself. Yeah…not too shabby for the new kid in the city. With these obvious positives comes a few setbacks.
* My first business model for my personalized gift business was a temporary defeat.
* The price for doing what I love classifies me as a ‘starving artist’.
* Roommates whom I adore…however, I miss living alone.
* I’ve had more car trouble this year then any other time in my life.
* I’ve had many a low point throughout this year.
* A few other temporary defeats I won’t bother listing.
Out of these setbacks or obstacles came more opportunity.
My first business model did not work for me as I tested it out in the real world. I didn’t like it. The flow was off. So I cut my losses and started researching for my second model. I’ll test this latest model out in the coming weeks.
I know I have introduced you all to Lucille. I love that little Bug. She’s great. I had to get her prepared to be legal in the state of Maryland. Did you guys know that Maryland has very, very strict rules concerning the safety of a vehicle registered here? I bought my vehicle in VA. Mind you, she passed her safety inspection in VA. Not in MD. It took me a while to get her to specs…but I did it! Lucille is sporting two new Maryland license plates as we speak. Looking good too. 🙂
My low points are really nothing new at least to the ones that know me best. I’ve had my fair share of low points this year. What got me through them? I am lucky to have the support of my family and friends, both physical and cyber. My life coach played a part as well as the circle of extraordinary women brought together through her. I love my extraordinary sisters! It’s amazing what you can accomplish with a great support system. 🙂 A ton of self evaluation and constant self improvement assisted as well.
Again, not a bad year. As I start my 34th year I have a new list of things that I’d like to accomplish. I’ll list those out in my next post. I will say this. Alongside 1996 which was my 19th year, my 33rd year was my happiest. I love what I do. How many people can say that?
Thanks to the many that have aided in my happiness this year. I’m looking forward to interacting with you during my year 34.
Ciao!
